Liverpool vs Wolves – Betting Preview

On Wednesday night, the resurgent Wolverhampton Wanderers make a trip to Anfield!

Liverpool Preview

Liverpool avoided another setback at the weekend thanks to a scoreless draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, but things are again looking bleak for them as a top-four finish appears unlikely.

In their UEFA Champions League first-leg match against Real Madrid at home, Klopp’s team was humiliated 5-2, and with Los Blancos in such good form, there is very little possibility of a recovery.

The margin between the Kops and Tottenham, who are now in fourth place, is currently 9 points, but it might be closed if they get the most out of the two games they still have remaining.

But Liverpool have had a fair share of joy against Wolves, they have won 18 of their last 20 home league games against them, with the exceptions being 1-0 defeats in January 1984 and December 2010.

Despite missing much of the season, Diogo Jota started having an impact as soon as he returned from injury. Darwin Nunez’s starting spot is guaranteed by his potential unavailability. He is comfortable running either left or right while dribbling at an opponent since he can play off both feet. He regularly moves in all directions while carrying the ball to generate angles for play!

So keep an eye out for him!

Wolves Preview

The season for the Wolves under Julen Lopetegui has begun, and they are aiming for a much better team. A little bit of maturity and experience were needed to cap off an outstanding performance against Fulham at Craven Cottage over the weekend.

The points were split between the two teams after Pablo Sarabia gave the visitors an early lead. With an equal number of games played, they are currently three points ahead of Everton in 18th place, narrowly above the relegation zone.

Wolves’ 11-game losing streak against the Reds in the Premier League came to an end when they defeated Liverpool 3-0 in the rematch at the beginning of February.

Following a brief loan stint at Sporting CP, Pablo Sarabia joined Lopetegui’s team on a permanent basis from PSG. He primarily plays as an offensive midfielder and enjoys to cross, lay off, and play the ball off the ground frequently. He poses an indirect set-piece threat and can play either of the wings, making him all the more threatening!

Can he be the difference maker in this one?

1×2 Betting Odds

Let’s analyse the 1×2 betting market.

Because of their desire for vengeance following their recent humiliation at Molineux four weeks ago, Liverpool might prevail in this match.

Liverpool to win stands @ 1.52.

Despite the fact that Klopp’s team has fallen far short of expectations this season, the calibre and energy inside their ranks may be too much for Lopetegui’s squad to handle. The hostile atmosphere at Anfield may also play a significant role in this match!

Wolves to win at Anfield stands @ 7.00.

The market odds of a stalemate and further points dropped for Liverpool stands @ 4.80.

Total goals over/under

Let’s analyse the over/under market.

The odds that the total number of goals scored will be over 2.5, stands @ 1.79.

While the odds that the total number of goals will be under 2.5, stands @ 2.20.

Neither of these teams is having the best time in front of the goal at the moment, and both have defensive issues. The Anfield crowd will provide Liverpool an edge in this one though and we expect them to win by the odd goal here!
